Additional Information | Zhinyu is an alternative form of Zhinü in Chinese pinyin (or Chinese phonetic alphabet) for the convenience of romanization. “The Chinese phonetic alphabet spelling rules for Chinese names”, a Chinese national standard published in 2011 (This standard has a Chinese and English title, but the content is in Chinese), regulates that the character “ü” can be replaced by “yu” in some occasion, such as passport, foreign language files, etc. So the spelling of “Zhinyu” is more official or modern for western people, and the spelling of “Zhinü” is more original and widely-used for Chinese people. The Chang'e-4 mission team requested the spelling "Zhinyu". |
